Halloween is the time of year when we reinvent ourselves as fun, sexy, dangerous or ridiculous. For Lady Gaga, that time is “days that end in the letter ‘y.'” There is no wrong time to wear a shiny hat.
Don’t even pretend you’re not fascinated by Lady Gaga and her endless parade of identities and costumes. For her, being in the spotlight and trying on some outré or ridiculous ensemble is a constant phenomenon. Perhaps this is why Lady Gaga is such a wonderful inspiration for Halloween costumes. The star herself even suggested to MTV in 2009 that she could hide out for Halloween amid her costumed followers, a la “Where’s Waldo?” So take this opportunity to dust off your abs, take off your pants and get ready for the Halloween of your life. Here are some of our favorite Lady Gaga Halloween costume ideas.
You have had a fetish for fire escapes since playing Maria in “West Side Story” and you’re wondering how to incorporate your love of heights into a costume. As always, Lady Gaga is the answer. Dressing Gaga-style for Halloween this year and recreating her “Edge of Glory” video can bring you fame and fortune, or at least a two-tone wig. Please pour out a little of your drink for fallen E Street Band member Clarence Clemens, who provided the sax for this song, before dressing.
Lets face it, the MTV Video Music Awards would be pretty boring without Lady Gaga. Every year it turns into the same dragged-out affair–with lengthy monotone speeches filled with has-beens and people who paid scalpers big bucks to get in. Fortunately, we can always count on Lady Gaga for a performance that will snap us out of our autotune-addled stupor.
Have you ever wished that the Bible was more like the musical “Grease”? So has Lady Gaga. In her new “Judas” video, she’s partnered with standup guy Jesus… but she has the hots for Judas. It only makes sense: Judas has thirty pieces of silver AND he’s confident enough to kiss another man on the cheek.
The first time I saw Lady Gaga’s video for Born This Way the thing that immediately popped into my mind was….what a freakin’ perfect costume idea!
And no, I’m not talking about the bra and panties she dances around in throughout most of the video. I’m talking about the “skeleton in a tuxedo” outfit she dons at the very end.
